The beaches of Sant Joan, or San Juan, extending north of the island. This muncipio of the island extends through one hundred and thirteen miles square, and interestingly is the least populated of the island, due to its special geographical constitution. Almost the entire coast is composed of rocky areas and cliffs where you can find many small coves, some accessible only by boat. These beaches deserve special mention Xucla cove, Cala d'en Serra, the port of San Miguel, Cala des Moltons Creek, Portinatx, San Vicente Creek, Creek Xarraca S'Illot and especially Benirrás Creek. It is also common the formation of torrents that will lead to the beaches, with some spectacular in the rainy season.

Sant Joan has a great extension, but due to lack of important beaches, the area is not affected by the expansion of tourism and can find the typical extensions payesas land with buildings where traditional agriculture is still the protagonist.

This combination has allowed not only the town has retained deep Ibiza, but has allowed the conservation of major ecosystems that make the area a paradise almost untouched.

The municipality is composed of four parishes, which will be of the main parish in Eivissa. The other three small parishes are Balansat Sant Miquel de Sant Vicent de Sa Cala Sant Llorenç and Balàfia.
