The largest of the Balearic Islands (Isle of Pines) has unknowns. From the first Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta, Ibiza Island has seen little by little, the various people who have occupied their land, have changed the landscape resulting in the current Ibiza. By the way, remnants of a history of which have a long way.

A commitment to culture

Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans and Arabs, to the Catalan conquest, made the island of Ibiza a real garden in the sea. Salt farms, kilns, mills, towers, fortified churches and, of course, the great wall with five bastions represent the history of many peoples, many customs and traditions that still survive in the memory of Ibiza.

The human presence in this town is set in the prehistoric era. After the passage of Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans and Muslims, Christians came to hit the thirteenth century Xarc name, calling it as Quartó del Rei, referring to one of the rooms in which the island was divided, and then Santa Eulalia in honor of the chapel that stood up to that virgin.
